Guest houses on Arthur Bunder Road and Henry Road do ₹3,500 to ₹6,000, often with no lift and shared corridors. Avoid rooms with windows directly over the Causeway: hawker noise and horns run until 10pm and start again at 7am. Avoid the far southern end near Colaba Market and Sassoon Dock in the mornings unless the smell of a working fish dock is neutral to you.
