Planning a stay in Bandra West
When to go
Bandra West is at its best from roughly November to February, when the sea promenades at Bandstand and Carter Road are dry underfoot and busy into the evening, and the lanes around Pali Naka are comfortable for walking between restaurants. The monsoon runs roughly June to September; the promenades still draw people but the walk can be wet and the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, useful for reaching Worli or Nariman Point by road, is less pleasant to cross in heavy rain and high wind, and the roads feeding into the area from the Western Express Highway are also slower than usual through these months.
As one of the city's most in-demand neighbourhoods for both business and leisure travellers, Bandra West's comfortable season overlaps with the citywide wedding season, roughly November to February, when the better boutique doubles near Pali Naka and the sea-facing rooms at Bandstand are booked well ahead. With only around 103 hotels tracked in the area and just a handful carrying a live rate on our feed at any time, this is not a neighbourhood to leave until the last minute if your dates fall in that window.
Getting there and around
From Terminal 2, a taxi to Bandra West covers roughly 8 km and takes 25 to 50 minutes depending on traffic, at roughly ₹450 to ₹700. There is no direct metro station on the west side yet, though Metro Line 3's Bandra Colony station on the eastern flank is around a ₹90 auto-rickshaw ride away. Bandra station on the Western and Harbour lines is the more useful anchor: it puts Churchgate about 30 minutes and roughly ₹10 away in second class, and is the more predictable way into town at peak hours.
For onward travel to Worli or Nariman Point by road, the Bandra-Worli Sea Link is the route, a toll of roughly ₹100 each way for a car, connecting into the Coastal Road. Inside Bandra West itself, walking is the better habit — Pali Naka to Carter Road is about eight minutes on foot, and most of the neighbourhood's better-known lanes sit within that same short radius. Auto-rickshaws are metered from a roughly ₹26 flag-down fare but will sometimes decline short hops late at night, so do not count on one arriving instantly after dinner.
Where to stay in Bandra West
Pali Naka and the lanes behind it — Pali Mala Road, Union Park, Chapel Road — are the sweet spot for most visitors: quiet and leafy, about five minutes from Carter Road and ten from the main restaurant strip, with a good boutique double running roughly ₹9,000 to ₹16,000. Bandstand buys sea-facing rooms at roughly ₹15,000 to ₹28,000 and the shortest run to the Sea Link, which is worth paying for if your meetings are actually in Worli or Nariman Point rather than in Bandra itself.
Turner Road and Hill Road are cheaper, roughly ₹6,500 to ₹9,000, but noisier, with hawkers on the pavement until around ten at night. Our own price feed currently carries live rates for Hotel Beverly Palace Santacruz, LA Hotel Metro and ibis Mumbai BKC, spanning that budget-to-mid-range band and the Bandra Kurla Complex edge of the neighbourhood. The stretch around Bandra station on the S V Road side is worth avoiding: it is a persistent traffic knot, and the guesthouses there tend to be considerably older than their photographs suggest.
What a room costs here
Our feed holds live rates for only 3 of the roughly 103 hotels we track in Bandra West, so treat these figures as a guide to the band rather than a full picture of what is available on any given night. The cheapest live-rated room at the time of writing is roughly ₹3,900 at Hotel Beverly Palace Santacruz — a snapshot from our booking feed, not a quote — rising to roughly ₹4,800 at LA Hotel Metro and ₹13,700 at ibis Mumbai BKC, which sits at the edge of the Bandra Kurla Complex business district.
Beyond those three, the wider area runs from roughly ₹6,500 on Turner Road and Hill Road up to ₹15,000 to ₹28,000 for a sea-facing room at Bandstand. Prices across Bandra West climb further during the wedding season, November to February, and this is one of the more expensive neighbourhoods on this site relative to its hotel count — with only around 103 properties tracked here, a popular date can sell out the mid-range band well before the premium sea-facing rooms do, so a wider search on this site is often worth it before settling on Bandra alone.
