What it is

From here, Mumbai's main attractions — including central Bandra West — are an easy walk or short ride away, so you spend less time in transit and more time exploring.

Because pricing is set live by the hotel and its suppliers, the figure shown here is a recent snapshot; check the current rate for your exact dates before booking.

Where it sits

Asian Dormitory is in Bandra West, at Santacruz East, Mumbai. Straight-line, that is about 2 km from Terminal 2, 15 km from CSMT and the Fort offices, and 1 km from the Bandra Kurla Complex.

Road times in Mumbai are not a function of distance. Modelled at the city-wide average of about 17 km/h, that is roughly 7 minutes to the airport, 53 minutes to Fort and 5 minutes to BKC — add half again in the evening peak, and take the train instead wherever the route allows. These are modelled figures, not measured ones.

What is included

The property lists 18 facilities. The ones that decide a booking are grouped below; anything unusual — early check-in, a late departure, a desk that takes a laptop — is worth confirming when you book, because listings and reality drift.

Staying in Bandra West

Pali Naka and the lanes behind it — Pali Mala Road, Union Park, Chapel Road — are the sweet spot: quiet, leafy, five minutes from Carter Road and ten from the restaurants, ₹9,000 to ₹16,000 for a good boutique double. Bandstand gets you sea-facing rooms at ₹15,000 to ₹28,000 and the shortest run to the Sea Link, which matters if your meetings are in Worli or Nariman Point. Turner Road and Hill Road are cheaper at ₹6,500 to ₹9,000 but noisy, with hawkers on the pavement until ten. Avoid anything on the S V Road side or immediately around Bandra station: that stretch is a permanent traffic knot, the guesthouses there are much older than their photographs, and the rickshaw stand outside the station runs a fare-refusal racket at night. Book at least three weeks ahead for any November-to-February date; Bandra sells out early.

More on the neighbourhood, including how to move around it and what is worth walking to, is on the Bandra West page.

What it costs

We do not hold a live rate for Asian Dormitory at the moment; hotels in Bandra West on our list start at about ₹4,800 a night. Check the live price before you plan around a number — Mumbai rates move with the trade-fair and wedding calendars, and a room can double in the week of a large event.

November to February is the expensive season and the comfortable one. June to September — the monsoon — is the cheapest, and the rain is less of an obstacle than people expect if you plan around the mornings.

What guests say

3.6/5 from 96 reviews · collected through the booking feed, shown as written.

The worst place I ever stayed in my entire life till now. The place is full of incests, bed bugs, rats and many more things that no one would like to see. The washroom is small, dirty and among 21 beds only 1 toilet and bathroom is available. Its very unhygienic and would never recommend anyone to stay otherwise…

Very very bad. People don't go here. These people are cheating you all. Please don't go. There is a person called Abdullah. He will treat customers as a third party and have no respect. I alert all you guys if you have 100 + money go with good room around that area

Located in Santacruz, Mumbai. Very reasonable stay- 300/- per day. A separate bed compartment with neat pillow and sheets, an AC outlet, a mini fan, a separate locker, bath essentials like clean towel, soaps, etc. are provided. Bus stops and train stations are nearby. Consider this if you are on a work related visit.
