Avoid anything on the S V Road side or immediately around Bandra station: that stretch is a permanent traffic knot, the guesthouses there are much older than their photographs, and the rickshaw stand outside the station runs a fare-refusal racket at night. Book at least three weeks ahead for any November-to-February date; Bandra sells out early.
