What it is

Guests typically choose Thane for its balance of location and price; Hotel Al Ahad is a good fit if you want to be near the action in Mumbai.

Where it sits

Hotel Al Ahad is in Thane, at Pp Panama Tailor Zakeria Masjid St Pydhonie Mandvi, Mumbai. Straight-line, that is about 15 km from Terminal 2, 2 km from CSMT and the Fort offices, and 13 km from the Bandra Kurla Complex.

Road times in Mumbai are not a function of distance. Modelled at the city-wide average of about 17 km/h, that is roughly 54 minutes to the airport, 6 minutes to Fort and 46 minutes to BKC — add half again in the evening peak, and take the train instead wherever the route allows. These are modelled figures, not measured ones.

Staying in Thane

Three clusters matter. Around the Eastern Express Highway near Cadbury Junction and Korum Mall you get business hotels at ₹3,000–₹6,500 with parking and 10 minutes to Thane station — the most practical choice. Along Pokhran Road and towards Upvan and Hiranandani Estate, quieter properties and serviced flats run ₹4,000–₹8,000 and put you nearer Yeoor and the lakes. In the old town around Talao Pali and Gokhale Road, small hotels sit at ₹2,000–₹4,000 with real neighbourhood life outside the door but no parking whatsoever. Long-stay flats in Vartak Nagar and Hiranandani Estate go for ₹35,000–₹65,000 a month. Avoid rooms facing the Eastern Express Highway — six lanes of night trucks — and avoid Ghodbunder Road addresses beyond Kasarvadavali unless your work is out there.

More on the neighbourhood, including how to move around it and what is worth walking to, is on the Thane page.

What it costs

We do not hold a live rate for Hotel Al Ahad at the moment. Check the live price before you plan around a number — Mumbai rates move with the trade-fair and wedding calendars, and a room can double in the week of a large event.

November to February is the expensive season and the comfortable one. June to September — the monsoon — is the cheapest, and the rain is less of an obstacle than people expect if you plan around the mornings.

I had a disappointing stay at Hotel Ahad. The first room I was given was infested with small cockroaches, forcing me to switch to another room. The second room wasn’t cleaned properly, especially after I extended my stay by a day. Room service was terrible—I even had to fetch water from a tap myself. The hotel seems…

Staff behavior is good. When I booked the hotel, I was told that Wi-Fi and TV were in the room, but when we checked in, the TV was not working. When I asked the reception, they replied that they do not recharge the TV, the TV is off. Cleaning was done once in 3 days. Staying with family is considered risky. My side…

Hotel Al Ahad was one of the more disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. The room was extremely tiny, barely enough space to move around, and the cleanliness was well below standard—unclean sheets, dusty surfaces, and an unpleasant smell in the room. The staff was not just unhelpful, but outright rude when I asked…
