What it is
Guests typically choose Santacruz for its balance of location and price; Sahara Star is a good fit if you want to be near the action in Mumbai.
Rates shift with the season and with demand, so the live price on the booking page is always the one to trust — tap through for tonight's or your dates' real availability.
Where it sits
Sahara Star is in Santacruz, at Opposite Domestic Airport, Mumbai. Straight-line, that is about 1 km from Terminal 2, 17 km from CSMT and the Fort offices, and 4 km from the Bandra Kurla Complex.
Road times in Mumbai are not a function of distance. Modelled at the city-wide average of about 17 km/h, that is roughly 5 minutes to the airport, 62 minutes to Fort and 13 minutes to BKC — add half again in the evening peak, and take the train instead wherever the route allows. These are modelled figures, not measured ones.

Staying in Santacruz
For work, book Santacruz East along Nehru Road or off the Western Express Highway near the domestic terminal: full-service hotels at ₹11,000 to ₹20,000, airport shuttles, and BKC ten minutes away. The mid-market strip on Nehru Road towards Vile Parle offers ₹5,500 to ₹9,000 with breakfast and is fine. For a quieter, cheaper stay pick Santacruz West around Khira Nagar, Podar Road and the Juhu Road end — ₹4,000 to ₹7,000 in small properties, tree-lined lanes, and an easy walk to the station. Avoid the immediate Vakola stretch along the highway service road: it is loud in three directions and the older lodges there are poorly kept. Avoid anything advertised as near the Milan Subway during June to September. Whichever side, confirm the address contains the word East or West before you pay, because the two are 3 km and one very congested underpass apart.
More on the neighbourhood, including how to move around it and what is worth walking to, is on the Santacruz page.
What it costs
The most recent snapshot we hold for Sahara Star starts at about ₹8,400 a night, against a median of about ₹8,400 for the Santacruz hotels on our list. That is a snapshot, not a quote: Mumbai rates move with the trade-fair and wedding calendars, and the same room can double in the week of a large event.
November to February is the expensive season and the comfortable one. June to September — the monsoon — is the cheapest, and the rain is less of an obstacle than people expect if you plan around the mornings.
