Treebo Express Inn is a practical 3-star stay in Powai, Mumbai — good value for exploring the area and its landmarks like central Powai.

About Powai: Lake-facing towers, IIT Bombay and two genuinely Ecotel-certified hotels — the calmest business base in the eastern suburbs. All hotels in Powai →

What it is

The surrounding Powai district is one of the most convenient parts of Mumbai to stay in, with restaurants, cafés and transport links close by.

Where it sits

Treebo Express Inn is in Powai, at Rai Niwas Jijamata Nagar Military Road, Mumbai. Straight-line, that is about 4 km from Terminal 2, 20 km from CSMT and the Fort offices, and 6 km from the Bandra Kurla Complex.

Road times in Mumbai are not a function of distance. Modelled at the city-wide average of about 17 km/h, that is roughly 13 minutes to the airport, 72 minutes to Fort and 21 minutes to BKC — add half again in the evening peak, and take the train instead wherever the route allows. These are modelled figures, not measured ones.

What is included

The property lists 37 facilities. The ones that decide a booking are grouped below; anything unusual — early check-in, a late departure, a desk that takes a laptop — is worth confirming when you book, because listings and reality drift.

Staying in Powai

Split the decision by which side of the lake you need. For lake views and conference space, the Renaissance and Lakeside Chalet on Adi Shankaracharya Marg and the Westin at Hiranandani Business Park run ₹9,000–₹16,000 a night midweek, more when a convention fills the ballroom. For eco-certified and quieter, Rodas and Meluha The Fern sit inside Hiranandani Gardens off Central Avenue at ₹6,500–₹11,000. Long-stay consultants should look at serviced apartments around Powai Plaza and Nahar Amrit Shakti in Chandivali, where a month runs ₹65,000–₹1,10,000. Avoid the very cheap guesthouses along Saki Vihar Road near the Chandivali junction — they are ₹2,500 rooms with no lift, generator noise and an unlit 700 m walk to any restaurant. Also avoid anything advertised as Powai but with a Vikhroli or Kanjurmarg address; the highway crossing is miserable on foot.

More on the neighbourhood, including how to move around it and what is worth walking to, is on the Powai page.

What it costs

The most recent snapshot we hold for Treebo Express Inn starts at about ₹4,000 a night, against a median of about ₹8,900 for the Powai hotels on our list. That is a snapshot, not a quote: Mumbai rates move with the trade-fair and wedding calendars, and the same room can double in the week of a large event.

November to February is the expensive season and the comfortable one. June to September — the monsoon — is the cheapest, and the rain is less of an obstacle than people expect if you plan around the mornings.

What guests say

Pathetic Rooms and services. The photos and actual rooms are completely different. Too much dirty rooms, bed and cupboard without doors. Water lodging in bathroom and also geyser was not working. No room services for cleaning or else.

You get value for money from offers in Treebo website. Rooms are purely functional. Beds are not good and feel saggy. Room had a bit of strange chemical smell too. Breakfast is also part of the package.

We lived in Room no 323 a week ago and our experience is not that great. The issues are as follows - 1. There is huge crack in the wall on the head rest of bed. 2. Bed sheets were found to be very old and dull. Seems dirty when we entered the room. We lived there for 2 nights but housekeeping did not show up. When…
