What it is

Guests typically choose Powai for its balance of location and price; Peninsula Grand Hotel is a good fit if you want to be near the action in Mumbai.

Rates shift with the season and with demand, so the live price on the booking page is always the one to trust — tap through for tonight's or your dates' real availability.

Where it sits

Peninsula Grand Hotel is in Powai, at Sakinaka Junction Andheri, Mumbai. Straight-line, that is about 3 km from Terminal 2, 19 km from CSMT and the Fort offices, and 5 km from the Bandra Kurla Complex.

Road times in Mumbai are not a function of distance. Modelled at the city-wide average of about 17 km/h, that is roughly 10 minutes to the airport, 67 minutes to Fort and 16 minutes to BKC — add half again in the evening peak, and take the train instead wherever the route allows. These are modelled figures, not measured ones.

What is included

The property lists 21 facilities. The ones that decide a booking are grouped below; anything unusual — early check-in, a late departure, a desk that takes a laptop — is worth confirming when you book, because listings and reality drift.

Staying in Powai

Split the decision by which side of the lake you need. For lake views and conference space, the Renaissance and Lakeside Chalet on Adi Shankaracharya Marg and the Westin at Hiranandani Business Park run ₹9,000–₹16,000 a night midweek, more when a convention fills the ballroom. For eco-certified and quieter, Rodas and Meluha The Fern sit inside Hiranandani Gardens off Central Avenue at ₹6,500–₹11,000. Long-stay consultants should look at serviced apartments around Powai Plaza and Nahar Amrit Shakti in Chandivali, where a month runs ₹65,000–₹1,10,000. Avoid the very cheap guesthouses along Saki Vihar Road near the Chandivali junction — they are ₹2,500 rooms with no lift, generator noise and an unlit 700 m walk to any restaurant. Also avoid anything advertised as Powai but with a Vikhroli or Kanjurmarg address; the highway crossing is miserable on foot.

More on the neighbourhood, including how to move around it and what is worth walking to, is on the Powai page.

What it costs

The most recent snapshot we hold for Peninsula Grand Hotel starts at about ₹6,400 a night, against a median of about ₹8,900 for the Powai hotels on our list. That is a snapshot, not a quote: Mumbai rates move with the trade-fair and wedding calendars, and the same room can double in the week of a large event.

November to February is the expensive season and the comfortable one. June to September — the monsoon — is the cheapest, and the rain is less of an obstacle than people expect if you plan around the mornings.

Very disappointing experience at Hotel Peninsula. I usually don’t write negative reviews, but this stay was truly unacceptable. The overall service quality was poor and far below expectations for any decent hotel. ➡️ Rooms: The rooms were in a pathetic condition. They were smelly, poorly maintained, and lacked basic…

I usually don't write review. I am not that active because I know nothing is going to change. And if I am forced to write I usually give all stars even if the service is average. But believe me in Hotel Peninsula Grand had a worst experience of my life.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience was beyond unacceptable. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this hotel has zero regard for basic hospitality or professionalism. The front desk staff was disorganized, rude, and shockingly untrained. It took over an hour to check in, and they managed to get my…
