The middle stretch around Soona Mahal and the Churchgate junction has mid-size hotels and a few serviced apartments at ₹9,000 to ₹15,000, closest to trains and cheap food. The Chowpatty end is cheaper, ₹6,000 to ₹10,000, but noisier and further from everything corporate. Do not book a city-facing room at a sea-view price; ask for the room number and check the orientation. Avoid low floors anywhere on the strip — the traffic on NSC Bose Road runs all night and the honking is unfiltered below the fourth storey. Monsoon rates from mid-June to mid-September are the best value in south Mumbai if rain does not bother you.
