Split the decision by purpose. For conferences and larger offsites, the Tungarli and Aamby Valley road belt above town has the big resorts — ₹8,000 to ₹22,000 a night with meal plans, own generators, and the space for breakout rooms. For couples and small groups, the Lonavala–Khandala road and the Rajmachi Point side have quieter boutique places and villas at ₹5,000 to ₹12,000. Budget hotels cluster within 500 m of Lonavala station at ₹2,000 to ₹3,500, walkable to trains and chikki shops, but the road noise from the old highway is real. Avoid rooms directly on the old Mumbai–Pune highway strip unless you sleep through trucks.
