Fabexpress Kurla Inn is a practical 3-star stay in Lonavala, Mumbai — good value for exploring the area and its landmarks like Bhaja Caves, near Lonavala.

About Lonavala: Ghat town midway on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway — corporate resorts, monsoon waterfalls, Karla caves and far too much weekend traffic. All hotels in Lonavala →

What it is

The surrounding Lonavala district is one of the most convenient parts of Mumbai to stay in, with restaurants, cafés and transport links close by.

Where it sits

Fabexpress Kurla Inn is in Lonavala, at Ground Floor & 1 Floor Offc No. A 1 2, Mumbai. Straight-line, that is about 2 km from Terminal 2, 16 km from CSMT and the Fort offices, and 2 km from the Bandra Kurla Complex.

Road times in Mumbai are not a function of distance. Modelled at the city-wide average of about 17 km/h, that is roughly 7 minutes to the airport, 56 minutes to Fort and 6 minutes to BKC — add half again in the evening peak, and take the train instead wherever the route allows. These are modelled figures, not measured ones.

What is included

The property lists 17 facilities. The ones that decide a booking are grouped below; anything unusual — early check-in, a late departure, a desk that takes a laptop — is worth confirming when you book, because listings and reality drift.

Staying in Lonavala

Split the decision by purpose. For conferences and larger offsites, the Tungarli and Aamby Valley road belt above town has the big resorts — ₹8,000 to ₹22,000 a night with meal plans, own generators, and the space for breakout rooms. For couples and small groups, the Lonavala–Khandala road and the Rajmachi Point side have quieter boutique places and villas at ₹5,000 to ₹12,000. Budget hotels cluster within 500 m of Lonavala station at ₹2,000 to ₹3,500, walkable to trains and chikki shops, but the road noise from the old highway is real. Avoid rooms directly on the old Mumbai–Pune highway strip unless you sleep through trucks. Avoid weekend rates full stop where you can — Friday-to-Sunday pricing in monsoon runs 60 to 80 per cent above midweek. And confirm whether your resort's advertised lake view is Tungarli, Lonavala Lake or a distant reservoir; the wording is loose.

More on the neighbourhood, including how to move around it and what is worth walking to, is on the Lonavala page.

What it costs

We do not hold a live rate for Fabexpress Kurla Inn at the moment; hotels in Lonavala on our list start at about ₹2,000 a night. Check the live price before you plan around a number — Mumbai rates move with the trade-fair and wedding calendars, and a room can double in the week of a large event.

November to February is the expensive season and the comfortable one. June to September — the monsoon — is the cheapest, and the rain is less of an obstacle than people expect if you plan around the mornings.

One of the worst stay in my entire travelling period so far. Worst location, worst hotel, worst service, worst rooms, worst experience.. when asked to improve the condition, they were like owner doesn't want to improve the hotel condition. They have not taken care of a single complaint since the 1st review. I would…

Worst place to stay. So many mosquitos and foot prints were there on the wall.. washroom was very small and water was stinky and bad. A lot of things to say. Just don't go.

The worst hotel ever to have stayed in. I booked it through Fab hotels and I was cheated of. The rooms was dingy with poorest hygiene, water was dripping down the washroom. It felt like I was being jailed. Won't recommend anyone to go for it. The support staff will be on your head unless you pay them. Such a…
