What it is

Guests typically choose Khar for its balance of location and price; Hotel Metro Palace is a good fit if you want to be near the action in Mumbai.

Where it sits

Hotel Metro Palace is in Khar, at 355 Ramdas Nayak Road, Mumbai. Straight-line, that is about 5 km from Terminal 2, 13 km from CSMT and the Fort offices, and 4 km from the Bandra Kurla Complex.

Road times in Mumbai are not a function of distance. Modelled at the city-wide average of about 17 km/h, that is roughly 18 minutes to the airport, 46 minutes to Fort and 13 minutes to BKC — add half again in the evening peak, and take the train instead wherever the route allows. These are modelled figures, not measured ones.

What is included

The property lists 35 facilities. The ones that decide a booking are grouped below; anything unusual — early check-in, a late departure, a desk that takes a laptop — is worth confirming when you book, because listings and reality drift.

Staying in Khar

The numbered roads between Linking Road and the sea — particularly 15th, 16th and the lanes towards Khar Danda — are the quietest and best value, with serviced apartments and small boutique hotels at ₹6,500 to ₹11,000 including breakfast. The Linking Road frontage itself is cheaper at ₹5,000 to ₹7,500 but you will hear traffic and shop shutters until midnight. The S V Road side, closer to Khar Road station, drops to ₹3,500 to ₹5,000; it is functional, well connected for trains, and thoroughly charmless. Serviced apartments are unusually good value here for stays of a week or more — expect ₹45,000 to ₹80,000 a month for a well-kept one-bedroom with a kitchen, which suits the longer project trip better than a hotel does. Avoid ground-floor rooms anywhere near the Khar subway between June and September for obvious reasons.

More on the neighbourhood, including how to move around it and what is worth walking to, is on the Khar page.

What it costs

We do not hold a live rate for Hotel Metro Palace at the moment; hotels in Khar on our list start at about ₹8,800 a night. Check the live price before you plan around a number — Mumbai rates move with the trade-fair and wedding calendars, and a room can double in the week of a large event.

November to February is the expensive season and the comfortable one. June to September — the monsoon — is the cheapest, and the rain is less of an obstacle than people expect if you plan around the mornings.

What guests say

3.8/5 from 113 reviews · collected through the booking feed, shown as written.

If you’re looking for a value-for-money stay in one of Mumbai’s most happening suburbs, Hotel Metro Palace is a reliable and convenient choice. It may not be ultra-luxurious, but it delivers where it matters: cleanliness, service, and location. Great for short business trips, family stays, or casual city…

Thoughtful and attentive front desk. Simple in-house breakfast. Clean, functional space. Good aircon. Excellent location. I'd readily return for my next stay in Mumbai and recommend it to friends.

Do not visit. We were stuck because we paid in advance. High price with zero modern amenities Unhygienic. Uncomfortable. Cheap mattress, old styled toiles with no bath towel and hand towel. Staff is rude and careless.
