If you want to be inside the quarter, ask for a room off the street side — M G Road carries taxi traffic and horns until midnight, and the lanes behind Jehangir get delivery vans from 6am. Avoid anything marketed as an art-district homestay without confirming the floor and the lift, because these are 1900s buildings and a fourth-floor walk-up with a suitcase is a real event.
