On the west side, IC Colony and Eksar offer quieter guesthouses and serviced flats at ₹3,000–₹6,500 with genuine neighbourhood atmosphere but a longer walk to the station. Avoid rooms directly over the station approach road, where hawker noise starts at 5am and the auto-rickshaw stand never stops, and avoid the very cheap lodges in the lanes immediately east of the tracks — ₹1,200 buys a windowless box. We booked 2 rooms through bookings.com which was the biggest blunder. When we came in the hotel, we were asked to pay full amount in advance and the excuse being after the payment only the booking cam be confirmed. The rooms are not what they are as per the image.
