What it is

Guests typically choose Andheri East for its balance of location and price; Metro Residency is a good fit if you want to be near the action in Mumbai.

Where it sits

Metro Residency is in Andheri East, at Behram Baug Road 1 Gautam Nagar Near M. G School Behram Baug Road Jogeshwari Behind Salman Chemistgautam Nagarnear M. G. School, Mumbai. Straight-line, that is about 7 km from Terminal 2, 23 km from CSMT and the Fort offices, and 9 km from the Bandra Kurla Complex.

Road times in Mumbai are not a function of distance. Modelled at the city-wide average of about 17 km/h, that is roughly 23 minutes to the airport, 80 minutes to Fort and 32 minutes to BKC — add half again in the evening peak, and take the train instead wherever the route allows. These are modelled figures, not measured ones.

What is included

The property lists 7 facilities. The ones that decide a booking are grouped below; anything unusual — early check-in, a late departure, a desk that takes a laptop — is worth confirming when you book, because listings and reality drift.

Staying in Andheri East

Sahar Airport Road, running between the Western Express Highway and Terminal 2, is the premium strip — the Leela, JW Marriott Sahar, Hilton and Novotel, at ₹12,000 to ₹22,000 with proper conference floors, free terminal shuttles and IGBC-standard newer builds if that matters to your travel policy. Chakala and JB Nagar hold the mid-market: Courtyard, ibis, Holiday Inn and a dozen local four-stars at ₹5,500 to ₹9,000, all within eight minutes' walk of a Line 1 metro station. MIDC Central Road and Marol suit anyone with meetings in SEEPZ, at similar rates. Avoid Sakinaka and the far end of Andheri-Kurla Road unless your office is on it: the hotels are cheap at ₹3,500 and the evening journey out of there will cost you the saving in taxi time. Always check the hotel is walking distance from a metro station — in this suburb it is worth more than a pool.

What it costs

We do not hold a live rate for Metro Residency at the moment; hotels in Andheri East on our list start at about ₹9,200 a night. Check the live price before you plan around a number — Mumbai rates move with the trade-fair and wedding calendars, and a room can double in the week of a large event.

November to February is the expensive season and the comfortable one. June to September — the monsoon — is the cheapest, and the rain is less of an obstacle than people expect if you plan around the mornings.

Best in budget! Staff is Friendly. The highlight of my stay was the clean, odor-free toilets — an absolute must for me. The overall experience was pleasant, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Highly recommended!

This hotel is one of the cheapest in price when compared to other room hotels available in that region. 1st I was given a room on 1st floor but the problem is the AC's are not functioning adequately and it ran out of gas. The smell in that room was so bad. So, I had to shift to the other room which is in the ground…
